Martinez -- Gerald H. Martinez, 55, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, June 5, 1999 after a very long illness. He is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Martinez of the family home; sister, Lorraine Chavez and husband, Phillip of Albuquerque; brothers, Don Martinez of Moriarty and Anthony Martinez and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque; foster children, Gary Bogden and wife, Theresa, Glen Bogden and wife, Beverly, Jeffery Herrera, and Kris Trujillo, all of Albuquerque; nieces, Felicia Chavez, Lynette Chavez, Melanie Lucero and husband, Shane, Georgiana Chavez, all of Albuquerque, Shelley Martinez of Hurst, TX, and Josephine Encinias of Las Vegas, NM; nephews, Norberto Monje and Phillip Chavez; great-nieces, Kymberly Coleman, Zanique Lucero, Kenda Pina and Shinia Baca; great-nephews, Brian Ortiz, Nicholas Farris and Gabriel Chavez-McBroom. Gerald graduated from Valley High School in 1962. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime employee at Sun-Tran Transit Systems. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Road SW, with Father John Shedlock, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Chavez, Kris Trujillo, Rick Eavenson, Norberto Monje, Gene Ulibarri, and Sam Reill. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Chavez, Brian Ortiz, Nicholas Farris, Gabriel Chavez-McBroom, Shane Lucero, and Kenneth Salas. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
