Cicchetti -- Mario M."Chick" Cicchetti God gathered Chick into His arms and took him home on May 27, 1999. He was born in New York City, June 28, 1915, to Vicente and Loraine Taluse Cicchetti. He served his country proudly in WWII as a tank gunner in the 103rd Division of the 3rd Army, under General George Patton. He saw five major battles, including Normandy and the Liberation of Buchenwald. He earned the European Theatre Medal with five silver stars and the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. After being discharged, he was a fireman for a short time in New York City before moving to El Paso, Texas, where he became a policeman and served his community in the capacity for 25 years. He moved to Albuquerque in March, 1993. He was a member of Blinded Veterans Association and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by three sons, Farrell and his wife, Sandy, Glen and his wife, Michele of El Paso, TX, and Dale of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Billie Carmody of T or C, NM, and Tammi and her husband, Jim Dolinger of California. Also eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Marie Wladika of Albuquerque. Chick's family and friends know that he has at last found peace in the loving arms of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. God is all loving. He forgives everything and everyone. Interment has taken place at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX.
