Sandlin -- Edgar Alvin Sandlin, a resident of White Rock, NM, died early Sunday morning, July 18, 1999. He was born to Ira and Francis Sandlin on April 29, 1933 in Modena, Missouri. He was a graduate of the original Albuquerque High School in 1951. Ed served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Gilmore, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion. As a construction engineer for the United States Government, he retired from Los Alamos National Laboratories after 23 years of service. Ed's loved ones and friends knew well of his love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He would take long rides on his Harley and often attended rallies. Ed had an affinity for collecting and crafting all types of frogs. He could frequently be found in his front yard eating ice cream with the neighborhood kids and displaying his frog collection. Ed will be dearly missed and always remembered by those whose lives he touched. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa; their daughter, Debbie; and"dawg" Harley; his other children, Carole Sullivan and husband, Danny, Daniel Sandlin and wife, Julie, Shirley Sandlin-Tucker and husband, Tom, Melodee Bero and husband, Dan; his aunt, Lottie Callen from Missouri, and aunt, Pricia Paulkovich of Maryland, aunt, Bea Tallent from Virginia, Aunt Esther Vaughn from California; his six grandchildren are Kristopher Phillip, and Kenneth Bero, Sara Lashea Sullivan, Ian and Eric Sandlin. His is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 20, 5:00 p.m., at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 21, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
