Garcia -- Mr. Alberto Garcia died Saturday in Albuquerque at the age of 83. Mr. Garcia was born August 27, 1916 in Manzano, NM. He left New Mexico in 1936 and resided in California until 1992. Mr. Garcia was a World War II Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was also a retired barber. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Ferrales Garcia, the mother of his children; and his second wife, Josie Chavez. He is survived by his close friend, Rose Cordova; sons, Ernest Ricardo Garcia and Arturo Norberto Garcia; daughter, Maria Elena Garcia Creasy; brother, Salomon Garcia and wife, Juanita; sisters, Jessie Chavez, Carlota Vigil and husband, Ernesto and Nora Chavez; and grandchildren, Jessica, Michaela, Dillon, Danielle, and Petra. Funeral services for Mr. Garcia will be held on Wednesday at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m. at the San Felipe Church.
