Cordova -- Marvin M. Cordova, 74, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 20, 1999. Mr. Cordova was born on February 1, 1925 in La Joya, NM to Estanislado and Veronica Cordova; he was a resident of Albuquerque and a parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sadie T. Cordova of the family home; his children, Lorraine Rael, Rose Mary Baca and husband, David, Jerry T. Cordova and wife, Emily, Merlinda Cordova and Ted Encinias, Jennifer Jaramillo and husband, Marvin; eight grandchildren, Veronica Rael, Liberato Rael, Davetta Baca, Cristobal Encinias, Kimberly Encinias, Ethan Jaramillo, Ashley Jaramillo, Elijah Jaramillo. Also surviving are two sisters, Josephine Gonzales and Nay Padilla; one brother, Sisto Cordova; and his mother-in-law, Sara Torrez. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Stover. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Padilla, Stanley Padilla, Lino Gonzales, Edwin Torrez, Peter Martinez and Warren Lewis. Funeral services are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
