Nadobny -- Sidney Joseph Nadobny, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on February 8, 1999. Mr. Nadobny was born in Houghton, MI to Joseph and Michaelina Nadobny on January 23, 1916. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia of the family home; step-son, Michael Carrette of Michigan; step-daughter, Patricia Rumph of Michigan; sisters, Isabel Tranke of Los Lunas and Margaret Amann of Albuquerque; nieces, Pat Gogin of Wisconsin, Kathy Ghawi of Illinois and Mary Ellen Laporte of Wisconsin; nephews, John Paul Kelly of Milwaukee, WI and James Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK; and five step-grandchildren. Mr. Nadobny was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis Club of Rio Rancho and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mr. Nadobny was a WWII veteran who served in the North African Invasion and served in Italy. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the chapel of Rio Rancho Funeral Home with Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Guy Roberts as Celebrant. Interment will immediately follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Arrangements under the care of Rio Rancho Funeral Home, 2400 Southern Blvd., 891-9192.
