Gallegos -- Phillip Allen Gallegos, 43, passed away January 30, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Phil was stricken with a brain tumor which was identified only days before it took his life. Phil attended St. Mary Grade School and was a graduate of Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque. He completed course work at both the University of New Mexico and Highlands University. Phil also served his country honorably in the Marine Corp. He was a member of the local Laborers Union #872 and was working construction at the Summerlin Resort at the time his cancer became known. Phil is survived by wife, Sandra; mother, Barbara Page and husband, Charles Parent; sister, Charmaigne Riehl and spouse, Ed; brother, David; nieces, Jenina and Monica Carriaga; great-nephew, Salvador Carriaga-Escobar; and aunt, Marlene Luna; counsin, Lisa Luna-Wood; and too many other beloved and special aunts, uncles and cousins to name. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be held today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th Street and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be Thursday morning, from 9:00a.m. till the time of Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ralph Luna, Ivan Page, Marney Cordova, John Mares, Bruce Erickson and Larry Marquez. Services are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW.
