Murphy -- Hazel R. Murphy, 82, passed away in the hospital in Clarksville, Texas on January 4, 1999. Hazel was born December 20, 1916 in Stonewall, Oklahoma. She married John Houston Murphy on December 1, 1934. They moved to a farm in San Antonio, New Mexico in 1939 and on to Albuquerque in 1950. She worked many years as the store manager for the Disabled American Veterans. After the death of her husband she moved to Cuthand, Texas to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson, Michael J.J. Murphy; and granddaughter, Lauren Anne Ray. She is survived by two sons, Donald Murphy and wife, Betty, Clarksville, TX, Ronald Murphy and wife, Carole, Albuquerque; two daughters, Sherry Rolen and husband, Dave, Cuthand, TX, Anita McReynolds and husband, Kent, Albuquerque; three sisters, Irma Kinstner of Ada, OK, Christian Dunnigan of Arlington, TX, Ollie Killian of Navada, TX; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; and many more special relatives and friends. Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 1999, 3:00 p.m., at the First Assembly Church, Clarksville, Texas. Her Pastor of over 50 years, Rev. Everett Smith of Albuquerque and Rev. Harvey Brown of Chicota, Texas will conduct her service. Special music and singing will be provided by her granddaughter, Rhonda Rhodes, Leah Rolen and Kari Murphy. Pallbearers will be William Rolen, Ronnie Rolen, Jim Murphy, Michael Lujan, Dale Rhodes and Phillip Rolen. Clarksville Funeral Home, Clarksville, Texas, is in charge.
