Rushing -- Lt. Col. Cecil M. Rushing, US Army (Ret.), 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Monday, January 25, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, June Rushing of the family home; sons, Don G. Rushing and wife, Cynthia of LaJolla, CA and Michael J. Rushing and wife, Ellen of Indian Hills, CO; step-sons, C. Douglas McConnell and wife, Janna of Orlando, FL and Edward R. McConnell and wife, Shauna of Tulsa, OK; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice"Pete" Rushing. Mr. Rushing lived in Santa Fe from 1935-1940. He then moved to Albuquerque in 1940 where he lived until his enlistment in military service. Lt. Col. Rushing served in the US Army for over 29 years, retiring in 1971. He then was a state agent for National Educators Life Insurance Co. for 15 years. Mr. Rushing was a member of Sombre del Monte Christian Church. Memorial services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Monroe M. Miles and Rev. G. Duncan Miller officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
