Morgan -- Lieutenant General Thomas W. Morgan, USAF (Ret.) passed away peacefully in his home on January 22, 1999 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with his wife at his bedside. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; seven children and their spouses, Wendell and Joan Morgan of Montgomery, AL, Catherine and Frank Townsend of Ninety-Six, SC, Ward Morgan of Clemson, SC, Lewis and Delores Morgan of Greenwood, SC, Jacqueline Morgan and Barbara Anderson of Jemez Springs, NM, Lt./Col. James Morgan (USA) and Pamela Morgan of St. Croix, USVI and Lt./Col. Stephen and Major Sarah Preteska (USAF) of Jemez Springs, NM; his sisters, Virginia M. Howze of Jonesboro, TN, Mary and Russell Chapman of Bay St. Louis, MS and Lucy and Carlton Phillips of Alamogordo, NM; his 12 wonderful grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Catherine Richmond; and his parents, Emma and Wendell, Lt. Gen. Morgan was active in many military and civic organizations. Family and friends may attend visitation at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, January 25, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 1999 at The Chapel, Kirtland Air Force Base, at 10:00 a.m. with Chaplain Col. Lemuel M. Boyles, USAF, (Ret.) officiating followed by an interment service at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with full military honors by Kirtland Air Force Base Honor Guard.
