Brown -- Benita M. Brown, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Friday, May 21, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Uber; granddaughter, Sharon Miller and husband, John; sister, Leona Cowan; and many nieces and nephews that she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Brown. Mrs. Brown was from a family of seven. She worked as Spears Department Store for many years in Los Alamos before moving to Albuquerque. Mrs. Brown owned Los Lomas Grocery Store in the 50s, which was located on what is now Lomas Blvd. NE. In her later life, she enjoyed her church and her many friends. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was a charter member of the Eastern Star in Los Alamos and also belonged to the Rebecca's. She was formerly of 913 Cardenas NE. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel. 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Winfred Walker officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
