Rice -- Marguerite"Margaret" Rice, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Saunders and husband, Dave of Albuquerque and Joyce Rayburn and husband, Boyd of Bella Vista, AR; sons, James Rice and wife, Alice of Albuquerque and Tommy Rice and wife, Arlene of Mulberry, AR; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Pickett and husband, C.V. of Tyler, TX; brothers, Cliett Hooker and wife, Maurine of Fort Worth, TX, Leonard Hooker and wife, Billie Ruth of Lancaster, TX, Louis Hooker and wife, Alice Ruth of Tyler, TX and Billy Charles Hooker and wife, Barbara of Hillsboro, TX. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Rice; son, Art C. Rice; and brothers, John Hue Hooker and Raymond Hooker. Margaret's home was a home to all friends, neighbors and relations. Let her be remembered for her generosity and loving nature. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Ray Rice, Joe W. Rice, Larry Lee Rice, Jimmy Saunders, John Saunders and Shane Hunter. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Rice.
