Muniz -- Cecilio Muniz, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 21, 1999 in Fort Bayard, NM. Mr. Muniz was a life-long resident of New Mexico; a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church; and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lupita Muniz of the family home; four sons, Tony Muniz, Cecil Muniz Jr. and wife, Margie, Ted Muniz and wife, Alice, Deciderio Muniz and wife, Eloisa; three daughters, Oralia Barrientes and husband, Johnny Joe, Orlinda Lucero and husband, Pat, and Lillian Ortega; 32 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Nacario Muniz and wife, Raquel; and one sister, Clora Arguello. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket Bearers will be Johnny Barrientes, Phillip Muniz, Carlos Lucero, Marcial Ortega, Cecil Muniz and Robin Muniz.
