Brodie -- Christiana"Chrissy" Stage Brodie, 88, died peacefully on April 14, 1999 after a brief illness. Born in Gateshead, England, she lived in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Florida, California, and Idaho before moving to Albuquerque in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer in 1984; and her brother, Colling in 1996. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Liddell of Albuquerque and Chris Burk and her husband, Bill, also of Albuquerque; and five grandchildren, John Farrar III of Encino, CA, Breanne and Jay Liddell and Elizabeth and Caroline Burk, all of Albuquerque. She was an accomplished musician, teaching accordion and leading her own accordion band in Santa Monica, California in the 1930s. A longtime Presbyterian, she and her husband founded the Mariners Group in 1941 and were their first Skippers at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica, CA. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, where she was a strong supporter of the Music Program. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria NE on Sunday, April 18, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brodie Music Endowment, Covenant Presbyterian Church.
