Mcmullen -- Isabel V. McMullen, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Thursday, December 31, 1998. She is survived by her two sisters, Ruth V. Foster of Annarbor, MI and Peggy Dawson of Albuquerque. Isabel was born in Whitestone Long Island, NY. She was employed as executive secretary with The Basf Corporation. When WWII became vital, she served New York City as an Air Raid Warden, enlisting in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in May 1943. Serving overseas in Naples and Leghorn, Italy. She was awarded the bronze star for her efforts and took her discharge in Leghorn in 1946, in order to remain with the Civil Service. Returning to New York City. She became active with the Seaman's Institute, WOR.TV, and the Golden Hill Chorus, an all women's choral group and the Professional Secretaries Association which sponsored the Retirement Center in Rio Rancho known as Vista Grande. Isabel retired to Albuquerque in 1977 where she became an active member in Chapter 60 of the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Col. Lemuel Boyles, USAF, Ret., officiating.
