Crossland -- Ella E. Crossland, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 29, 1999. Ella was born January 25, 1912 in Helen, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles and Cora Smith Waggle. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church, a volunteer at the Happy Days Christian Day Care and Pre-School. Ella retired from Akron City/Summa Hospital in Akron, Ohio in 1976, she retired from Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque at the age of 82. She then lovingly care for her ailing sister, Florence Danner, several years prior to Florence's death in 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Crossland; and the following brothers and sisters, Katherine Opatich, James, John, Cora Charlene Hodinko, Florence Danner, Charles and William. Ella is survived by a daughter, Karen L. Hall of Suffield, OH; three sons, Ronald W. of Albuquerque, Kent N. of Canal Fulton, OH and Von H. Crossland of Bay Village, OH; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The visitation for Ella will be held in the Chapel of of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, on Thursday, December 2, 1999, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Friday, December 3, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The service will be on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, with Rev. D. Stanley Blake officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bill Crossland, Boyd Crossland, David Hall, Dean Crossland, Jim Crossland, Justin Crossland, Max Hall, and Ray Hall.
