Welsh -- Jeanette Kathleen Welsh, born May 31, 1916, was the beloved wife of Arthur"Curly" Welsh for 61 years. She died peacefully Friday, December 15, 2000 in Santa Fe. She leaves a beautiful legacy of family and friends who cherish her: husband, Arthur"Curly" Welsh; son, Lee Welsh of Santa Fe; daughter, Katy Pickard and husband, Griff of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Shawn and Jenny Welsh of Albuquerque, Justin And Katherine Welsh of Mountain View, CA, Holly and Mark Newman of Albuquerque, Braiden Welsh of Denver, CO, Michael and Vicki Marra of Albuquerque, Griffin and Jeni Pickard of Laguna Hills, CA, Juliette and Jeff Watson of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Austin and David Welsh, Shannon and Brandon Welsh, Jack Newman, Sasha Pickard, and Nathanael and Lucas Watson. Mrs. Welsh is also survived by her sister, Marge Griffee and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews. Jeannette led a life of service out of her love for her Lord, Jesus. She served her family foremost, as well as her congregations of First Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, and her PEO Sisterhood. Jeannette and Curly resided in Albuquerque from 1939 to 1978, then retired to Santa Fe. Jeannette touched the lives of all who knew her with her kind and compassionate spirit. She exemplified a life of graciousness, love, selflessness, and devotion to her family and friends. She found abundant joy in her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends, the Pecos Mountains, flowers and the pure, simple pleasures and beauty of life. She will be greatly missed, but the fruit of her life will remain with each life she touched as she passed down her beautiful legacy. Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe, 208 Grant Street, with Rev. Sheila Gustafson and Pastor Charles Boswell officiating. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested memorial contributions be made in her honor to The Navigators, PO Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO, 89034, or to Casa Esperanza (a home away from home for cancer patients and their families) 1005 Yale Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106, or to St. Vincent Hospital, 455 St. Michaels Dr, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
