Lucero -- Juan Lucero, 79, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on December 8 2000. He was born June 11, 1921 in Anton Chico, NM. Mr. Lucero was a proud veteran of World War II, a member of the DAV, and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delfina N. Lucero, his grandson, Richard Lucero, and his parents, Apolonio and Felicita Lucero. Mr. Lucero is survived by his four daughters, Magdalena Martinez and husband, Raymond, Juanita Anaya and husband, Richard, Nora Lucero, and Beatrice Lucero; his brothers, Meliton Lucero and Ernesto Lucero; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. tonight. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Robert Martinez, Raymond Martinez, Jr. , Alberto Lucero, Brian Lucero, Ivan Chavez, and David Ward. Honorary Casket bearers are Isaac Jaramillo, Eric Jaramillo, and Avelecio Chavez. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., S.W.
