Barela -- Gilbert Barela, 38, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly on July 13, 2000. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Cassandra Barela; and three children, Isabel, Felicia, and Jeaneva. Also surviving are his parents, Isabel and Amador Barela; four brothers, Johnny Barela, Fidel Barela, Amador Barela and wife, Melinda, and Filomeno Barela; and five sisters, Gloria Montano and husband, Paul, Katy Garcia, Yolanda Montano and husband, Raymond, Sandra Barela, and Theresa Fay and husband, Robert. Friends may visit today, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Pallbearers will be Johnny Barela, Amador Barela, Fidel Barela, Filomeno Barela, David Sena, and Michael Sena. Cremation to follow. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. NW, Gary Santillanes C.F.S.P.
