Barrett -- Lawrence Wilbur Barrett, 78, renowned western artist Will Barrett, and longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away February 22, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital. Mr. Barrett, a gifted artist since childhood spent his life immersed in his art. A Tank Commander in WWII serving under General Patton, he toured Germany and France. After the war he traveled the west and eventually settled in Albuquerque. Graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico in 1950. Will's art spoke of his love of horses and western life. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou Wactor of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews; and hundreds of friends and art students. Services will be held on his birthday, Friday, March 3, 2000 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW. Rosary at 9:00 a.m. Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m.
