Carbajal -- Daniel Munoz Carbajal, 48, a resident of Bosque, NM was called to be with his Lord on Friday, September 8, 2000 at Gila Regional Medical Center. Daniel was born November 26, 1951 in San Jose, CA to Igancio and Lilia Carbajal. At the age of one, his family moved to Silver City, NM. He was a 1969 graduate from Silver High School. He left Silver City in search of a new job and to learn a trade. Daniel took an interest in carpentry and became very skilled in his new career. He grew to enjoy carpentry and loved all aspects of home and commercial building. Mr. Carbajal was a member of the Carpenters Local Union #1619 for 10 years. He built many buildings throughout New Mexico and other states but the moments that made him the proudest were the projects that involved his home in Bosque or when a friend needed help building a new home. After 20 years in construction he decided on a career change. Building from his experience, he earned his Associate Degree in Computer Drafting and his BA in Architecture. He worked for several architects in New Mexico and continued to be involved in the building trade. Before being diagnosed with cancer, he worked for Alley Associates in Las Cruces and was Project Manager for the award-winning cafeteria at Gadsen High School. He was a hard working man and prided himself in caring for his family. He was a loving and caring father, son, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who loved and knew him. Daniel is survived by his wife, Janis; his daughters, Elizabeth of Belen and Julia of Las Cruces; his son, Daniel Carbajal II of Las Cruces; parents, Ignacio and Lilia of Silver City; sister, Arlene Carbajal of Silver City; and two god-daughters, Nicole Chavez of Los Chavez and Zoe Birch of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his many loving family members and friends that are being brought together in his memory. Pallbearers will be Donald Pino, Larry Dixon, Quarai Silva, Edwin Romero, Henry Nunez Jr., Richard Murrufo, Rick Miller, Michael Aragon. Honorary pallbearer will be his son, Daniel Carbajal. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14, 2000 at San Antonio Catholic Church in Sabinal, New Mexico.
