Wader -- Donald D. Wader, 77, a resident of Belen, formerly of Albuquerque, died Thursday, September 28, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one son, Donald Wader Jr. and wife, Vanessa of Los Lunas; three grandchildren, Daniel Wader of Eagle Rock, CA, where he is a student at Occidental College, Derek Wader and Elisa Wader, both of Los Lunas; and sister-in-law, Fay Wader of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by one brother; and two sisters. Mr. Wader was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He had retired after 35 years with Sandia National Laboratories. After retirement, Mr. Wader spent his time farming and raising cattle. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Wader was a member of the Cattleman's Association. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Kim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wader, Derek Wader, Rick White, Walter White and Rande Broyles. Jim Reck will serve as honorary pallbearer. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Boys & Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix NE 87110.
