Dickinson -- Carol A. Dickinson, 63, of Albuquerque, died peacefully among family on September 25, 2000, after nearly twenty years of courageous struggle against chronic illness. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, George; her sister, Mary; her son Bill and his wife, Kim, son David, and son Jim; her stepdaughter, Debbie and her husband, Robert, stepdaughter, Laurie, stepdaughter, Joanie, and stepdaughter, Katie; her niece, Cathy and her husband, Rob, niece, Lynn, and her husband, Mike, and niece, Alma; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a warm community of beloved friends. Carol taught first grade at Adobe Acres Elementary School for many years before poor health forced her early retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister; a strong, wise, and generous friend; a gifted and energetic educator, artist, and musician who warmed and lit the many lives she touched; and a person of deep faith, humility, courage, and unfailing humor. Carol's wish that her remains be cremated has been honored. Memorial will take place at the Heights Club, 8520 Marble NE, on Sunday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider making gifts to the Heights Club, Inc., or to the Presbyterian Hospital Hospice program. Carol, we thank God for the gifts of your love and wisdom throughout our lives, and we are grateful that your suffering is over. Somewhere you are laughing and dancing again, and your joy in life will always be part of each of us who have loved you.
