Lauser -- Suzanne Lucille, a special gift from God, was born September 10, 1943 in Albuquerque, and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 28, 2000, due to complications following surgery. She is survived by her parents Kent and Marta Lauser, her sisters Kenna del Sol and Linda Hunter, and her brother Don Lauser; nieces Ohnah and Ariel and nephews Tony, Markom, Jed and Austin, and grandniece Akira Lynn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Lauser. Her parents were founding members of the Albuquerque Association for Retarded Children, now known as Association of Retarded Citizens of Albuquerque. Sue was a pioneering student in the special education program taught by Pearl S. Thompson. This program was started by AARC in conjunction with Albuquerque Public Schools in the early fifties. Sue, a longtime member of Harwood Methodist Church, was much loved by family and friends and touched many lives with her unconditional love. She spent her days singing, dancing, playing piano, creating her Homemade Handmade by Sueî greeting cards, helping her friends at Cornucopia, worshipping at Rio Grande Baptist Church and visiting with family and friends. She lived in an Intercare home in the South Valley associated with ArcA. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Harwood United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo Ave., NW, in Albuquerque, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Intercare - South Valley, 1515 4th St. NW, Albuquerque 87102.
