Chegwyn -- Robert Edward"Bob" Chegwyn, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Vivian D. Chegwyn of Albuquerque; stepson, Robert Bell of Albuquerque; sister, Betty Lange; and nephew, Jeff Lange, both of St. Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Chegwyn; brother and sister-in-law, John and Levina Chegwyn. Mr. Chegwyn had been an amateur Ham Radio operator since 1966. After moving to Albuquerque, he became a Ham Emergency radio operator. Mr. Chegwyn joined the Masonic Order in November 1945. In 1976, he was Master of the East Gate Lodge in St. Paul, MN. Later, he joined the Hazel Park Lodge and he also belonged to the Ork Rite, #312 both in St. Paul, MN. He was part of the Provost Unit of the Osman Shriners, also in St. Paul. When Mr. Chegwyn moved to New Mexico, he maintained an active role in the Ork Rite in Los Alamos. Services will be held Monday, May 1, 2000, 12:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Marsha Moore and Rev. Carmen Conner officiating. There will also be a Masonic farewell. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, April 30, 2000, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osman Women's Auxillary for the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, c/o Anne Kellerman, 260 West View Dr. #301, West St. Paul, MN, 55118.
