Wrzesinski -- Sister Mary Amidea Wrzesinksi, 67, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2000 in the Felician Sister's Convent. Sister Amidea served the Lord and His people as a woman religious for 48 years. Of these, she spent 44 years teaching elementary school students in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. For 13 of those years she was both principal and teacher. During the final year of her life, Sister Amidea tutored elementary students at St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho. She is fondly remembered by those she taught and worked with as an excellent and dedicated educator. She was generous with her time, possessed a great sense of humor, and faced difficulties with determination and patience. Sister Amidea was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas Wrzesinski and Josephine Syzdek Wrzesinski; a sister, Sister Mary Josetta Wrzesinski, also a Felician Sister; and two brothers, Albert and Simon Wrzesinski. She is survived by two sisters, Julia Lehoski of Pearland, Texas and Mary Johnston of Bedford, Texas; four brothers, Stash Wrezesinski of Ft. Worth, Texas, Ted Wrzesinski of Berwyn, Illinois, Roman Wrzesinski of Ft. Worth, Texas and Johnny Wrzesinski of Waxahachie, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, today, Friday, April 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Cecil Kleber, OFM as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary.
