Shiel -- Longtime resident, Joyce (Barela) Shiel, passed away on May 29, 2000 in Hudson, NY, after a long illness. She is survived by her loving children, Marie Shiel Regusis, husband, Tim of NYC, Patrick Shiel, wife, Reba, grandchildren, Joshua and Spencer of El Paso, TX, Deirdre Shiel Beaudry, husband, Craig of Tijeras, grandchildren, Joyce Porsberg, husband, Erik of Yuma, AZ, Cole Beaudry of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Larry Hoffman of Los Lunas, Renee Gordon, husband, John of Cairo, NY, grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Chavez of Storrs, CT; and her sister, Ranee Brown, husband George on Ontario, Canada. In lieu of a memorial service, the family requests a few moments of prayer and meditation on the 10th of June at 12:00 noon, which would have been her 63rd birthday. Gifts can be sent to the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation in Kansas City, MO.
