Jaramillo -- Josephine Valdez Jaramillo, 83, longtime resident of Albuquerque, and previously of Las Vegas, died peacefully on April 14 in the home of her nephew, Michael Padilla. Her beloved husband, Leo, to whom she was married for 43 years, preceded her in death. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and spent decades as a teacher for parochial schools, always dedicated to her students, and as a member of various Catholic organizations. Although Josephine had no children, she was a devoted Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her special nephew, Michael Padilla and wife, Peggy of Bosque Farms and their six children who cared for her in her last years; sister, Marie Cecilia Padilla and husband, Ray of Las Vegas; brother, Felix Valdez and wife, Elna of Edmonds, WA; aunt, Carmen Fernandez of Santa Fe; nephew, Robert Padilla and wife, Leora and children of Albuquerque; grandniece, Pamela Rodriguez and daughter, Daniella of Monterey, CA; nephew, Jerry Padilla and wife, Linda and children of Albuquerque; niece, Patricia Skrinar and husband, Tom and children of Tacoma, WA; niece, Marie Villanueva and husband, Joe and children of Albuquerque; niece, Charlene Maestas and husband, Fred and children of Santa Rosa; niece, Margaret Ann Bailey and husband, Robert and children of Kemp, TX; nephews, Tom, Fred and niece, Bella Enebeckler of California. A Funeral Mass was held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum Chapel in Albuquerque on April 19, the Reverend Father Albert Gallegos officiating. Internment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
