Duran -- Antonio G. Duran, born on May 22, 1920, and passed away on March 19, 2000. A lifelong resident of La Jara, New Mexico. His wife, Grace, preceded him in death on April 10, 1997. Antonio is survived by one daughter, Magdalena and husband, Albert Crespin of Amarillo, TX, their family, Geraldine C. and husband, Rafael Velasquez of Albuquerque, Dominic Crespin of La Jara, NM, and Jason Crespin of Amarillo, TX; son, Tony F. and wife, Eileen Duran of La Jara, NM, their family, Nathan and wife, Danette and their son, Andres Duran of La Jara, NM, James, Anthony, and Leslie Duran, all of La Jara, NM; son, Ricardo J. Duran of La Jara, NM, his family, Lenna, Melissa, and Christopher Duran, all of Albuquerque; brother, Frank Duran and wife, Leonor of Cuba, NM; brother, Robert Taylor and wife, Rafelita of La Jara, NM; sister-in-law, Francesquita Duran of La Jara, NM; his brothers-in-law are Aldoro Velasquez of La Jara, NM, Eloy Maestas of Albuquerque, Moises Gutierrez of Farmington, Bonifacio Gutierrez and wife, Evan of Cuba, NM, Vicente Gutierrez and wife, Lala of Salt Lake City, UT, Lorenzo Gutierrez and wife, Eva of Flagstaff, AZ. Antonio was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and a very active member of the Guadalupanos. He was a World War II veteran and an active member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the church's bible study group and a former board member of the Cuba Health Center. His activities also included being a member of the Legion of Mary, a former officer of the La Jara Irrigation Commission, and a member of the Farm and Ranch Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, 11:00 a.m., at Santo Nino Church in La Jara, NM with interment following at the family plot at the ranch. The pallbearers are Dominic Crespin, Jason Crespin, Nathan Duran, James Duran, Christopher Duran, Andres Duran, Bonifacio Gutierrez and Demecio Garcia. Honorary pallbearers: Johnny Montoya, Joe Velasquez, Richard Duran, Leonard Duran, Walter Taylor, Dolores Montoya, Felicario Maestas, Ray Lovato, Juan Duran, Aparcio Gurule and Tito Tafoya. Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th NW, is in charge of the arrangements.
