Haverty -- Virgie (Peggy) Haverty, 95, passed away on May 17, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Haverty. She is survived by her son, James L. (Jim) Williams and his wife, Marilyn of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Debra Benes and Mark Williams; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Virgie (Peggy) was a lifelong resident of New Mexico and retired from Sandia National Laboratories. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., this morning, at Sunset Memorial Park, with Deacon Arthur Cordova officiating. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Valle Norte Caring Center for the excellent care and compassion given to Peggy during her stay there.
