Owens -- Sylvia L. Owens passed away January 28, 2000 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Phillip R. Owens of Albuquerque; daughters, Susan Lovegrove-Graziano of Milan, Italy, Sara C. Lovegrove of Dallas, TX; and son, Robert E. Lovegrove of Missoula, MT; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; her twin brother, Gregory N. Tyack of Reston, VA; and sister, Antha T. Overbury of Tijeras; several nieces and nephews. Sylvia was born in Cheshire, Connecticut, January 30, 1915 and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University. She was active in several organizations, including the Red Cross, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Auxiliary of the National Society of Professional Engineers. She served as chairman of the local Auxiliary and as national chairman of the NSPE Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her outgoing and enthusiastic personality, and for her love of nature, flowers and music. Services will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with the Reverend Milton Propp, former Pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
