Romero -- Samuel"Sam" Romero, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, March 13, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Duina Tanner and husband, Cliff of Albuquerque; sons, Linden Romero of Roswell, Samuel Romero of Rio Rancho, Roland Romero and wife, Denise, Timothy Romero and wife, Donna, and Vince Romero and wife, Patricia, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Joseph Romero and wife, Suzanna of Alamogordo; sister, Pauline Diaz and husband, George of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Ruth Romero. He was a school bus driver for A.P.S., and was a member of the American Legion 13 and V.F.W. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea. Sam retired from Creamland Dairies, National Guard and Teamsters. He was also a member of First Spanish Fruit Ave. Baptist Church. Services will be held Thursday, 12:00 p.m., at First Spanish Fruit Ave. Baptist Church, 2804 Bel Air Dr. NE, with Pastor Bernie Moraga officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe. Visitation will be held Thursday, one hour prior to service. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
