Martinez -- Gilbert G. Martinez, Jr. (Tats) passed away peacefully on August 16 with his family around him. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilberto Sr.; grandson, Jeffrey Wells; sister, Emily Bonney; and brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lenore; daughters, Gloria Martinez Bishop and Fiance Kent Newton, Sandy Martinez-Pino; beloved grandchildren, Gary Alan Wells and wife, Lorna, Alexis and Angela Pino; great-grandchildren, James Tyler Wells, Dominique Everett, and Ciara Pino. He is also survived by his mother, Agneda Martinez; brothers, Hector Martinez, and wife, Dora, Louis Martinez and wife, Lorraine; sister, Mary Garza. Gilbert retired from Public Service Company after 35 years. A special thank you to his wonderful caregiver, Teresa Fuentes-Diaz and Eucharistic Minister, Jo Balduini. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will be held Monday, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, in charge of arrangements.
