Bruce -- Jesse "Dale" Bruce, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 1, 2000. He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Bruce and wife, Ginger of Bend, Oregon, and Gordon Bruce and wife, Charlotte of California; step-daughter, Deon Davis and husband, Roy of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; one great- grandchild; mother, Julie Bruce of Albuquerque; brother, Arnold Bruce and wife, Myra of Grandview, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Portia P. Bruce, on August 9, 2000. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of American Legion Lodge Post # 99 in which he served as assistant Chaplin and Service Officer. He volunteered many hours at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. Jesse was a member of Heights Church of Christ. Closed casket services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Dee Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood, NM. Pallbearers will be members of Heights Church of Christ. Viewing will take place at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, December 6, 2000 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
