Padilla -- Eutimia"Timia" Padilla, 78, former longtime Albuquerque resident, died Saturday, June 24th, after a long illness in Los Angeles, CA, where she had been living for several years. Services for Mrs. Padilla will be held in Albuquerque. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the mortuary chapel. The Rosary will be recited by the family and friends at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW, and a Requiem Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper St. NW. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A reception will be held after services at the home of her brother, Nicolas and Lila Sanchez at 2721 Rhode Island NE. A Memorial service for Mrs. Padilla was held Tuesday in Los Angeles for family and friends there. The Sanchez family came to the Atrisco area of Albuquerque from the Jarales, Casa Colorado, and Belen areas in the 1930s, then became very active in the whole Albuquerque area. Mrs. Padilla was born in Atrisco in 1922 and was a 1942 graduate of Albuquerque High School. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, George Ray Chavez Jr. and is survived by her children, Joe Elias Chavez of Los Angeles, Joe Padilla of Albuquerque; and her daughter, Mary Ann Pasillas and her husband, Joaquin of Los Angeles; grandchildren, George Roy Chaves Jr. of Elko, NV and Sherri Barth of Albuquerque, Jessica Padilla and Joe Raymond Padilla of Albuquerque and Jasmine and Nicolas Pasillas of Los Angeles; and two great-grandchildren, Dominique Barraza and Alexandria Miller of Albuquerque. The surviving brothers and sisters of Mrs. Padilla are Mrs. Ciria Montoya and Nicolas Sanchez of Albuquerque and Dolores Soto, Alfred Sanchez and Jose Maria Sanchez of Los Angeles, Alex Sanchez of Albuquerque, and Ernest Sanchez of Denver. Pallbearers are Nick Sanchez Jr., Patrick Montoya, Robert Sanchez, Steve Soto, Joe Raymond Padilla and Nicolas Pasillas. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
