Mondlick -- Leonard Evan Mondlick, Ph.D. of Middleton, CT, born November 22, 1951, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 6, 2000. Leonard is survived by his two children, Zachary David and Rachael Mary Mondlick of Guilford, CT; parents, Martin and Ruth Mondlick of Albuquerque; brother and sister-in-law, David Mondlick of Houston; TX; nephews, Shilo and Samuel Mondlick of Houston, TX; uncles and aunts, Albert and Roberta Shore, Harold and Minna Shore and Robert and Barbara Mondlick of Florida as well as numerous cousins. Leonard graduated from Manzano High School is 1970. After graduation, he worked on Kibbutz Gesher in Israel for one year after which he attended the Jewish Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University in New York City. When the Yom Kipper War broke out in 1973, he returned to Israel to work on the kibbutz and later served in the Israeli Army for three years. After his discharge, he graduated from Vassar College. For many years, he ran his own business, Mondlick Preventions, a drug and alcohol prevention program, working primarily with private schools in the Connecticut area. In 1998, he earned his PhD at New York University in Public Health. He was also a licenced drug and alcohol counselor. At the time of his death, he was the Director of Out-Patients at the Rushford Clinic in Middletown, CT and Director of their DWI program. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2000, 1:30 p.m. at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE with Rabbi Joseph Black officiating. Shiva will be at 7:00 p.m. at his parent's house. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
