Damon -- H&R Block Associate and Master in the field of Quality Tax Return Preparation, Bettye Jean Damon died Saturday, December 21, 2002, at home in Albuquerque after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 74. Bettye had been with H&R Block for 32 years and many of her clients depended upon Bettye for Income Tax Preparation for 30 years or more. Bettye is survived by her husband, Edward G. Damon of Albuquerque; daughter, Georgia Jean Carrion, and husband John of Redding, Calif.; two sons, Ernest Edward Damon, and wife Regina, and Alan Benge Damon, all of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bettye continued in her work at H&R Block until Sept. 6, 2002 when, because of her health, she was unable to continue working. The family would like to express their appreciation to her many clients and associates for their cards and letters expressing recognition of Bettye as a great lady and a wonderful person to be associated with through the years. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
