Lattanza -- Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson Lattanza, passed away in her home after a long illness on January 2, 2002. She was surrounded by her family, who will miss her very much. Born in Freedon, PA on April 15, 1923, Mrs. Lattanza moved to Albuquerque with her husband in 1950 where she enjoyed life and raised her family. Over the years, she served as a St. Joseph Hospital volunteer and Auxiliary President. She loved art and enjoyed being a docent at the Fetchin Museum in Taos, NM and her involvement with the NM Museum Foundation. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a member of the Aquinas Newman Center since 1972. Mrs. Lattanza is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger C. Lattanza; sons, Roger, Jeffrey and John Lattanza; daughter, Rebecca Lattanza Groves and her husband, Jack; brother, Paul F. Johnson; nine adored granddaughters; and one special great-granddaughter. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE on the UNM Campus, Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Quality Continuum Hospice and Home Healthcare, 8001 Mountain Rd. Place, Ste. 200, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Phone 891-8200. The family is tremendously grateful and would also like to extend their most sincere thanks to hospice for their care, support and dedication.
