Delong -- Paula G. De Long died at home Sunday, January 20, 2002. Mrs. De Long has been a distinguished personality in Sandoval County and throughout the region for many years. Paula started her teaching career at a very early age, since good teachers were hard to find. She continued her education through night and summer school while teaching. She also taught adult education classes. She went on to serve the Bernalillo school systems for the majority of her 49 year career in the educational field. She was Director of the Title One Program the last few years of her educational endeavor from where she later retired. Paula served on many advisory boards and was a charter member of the Planning and Zoning Board in Bernalillo. She received the LULAC Abrazo Award, was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and a member of the various Sandoval County boards. She was a charter member of the BDC and Bernalillo Public Library.
