Romero -- Oblester Acacio Romero, 65 a resident of Abuquerque, passed away on January 22, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mae Gallegos Romero; nine children, Andrew Romero and wife, Lucy, Luella DeLara and husband, Manuel, Ernestine Treadwell and husband, Mark, Ezequiel Romero and wife, Debby and Matthew, Ross, Elizabeth, David and Jeff Romero; 17 grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica, Nathan, Stephanie, Lori Ann, Amanda, Isaac, Zachary and Gabriel Romero, Roxanne and Rachael Pixley, Falicia DeLara, Lucas and Sean Sullivan, Katherine, Brittany and Jocelyn Treadwell; sisters, Carmen Baca and Maria Palma; brothers, Margarito, Carlos, Alfredo and Jose Romero; he is also survived by his many nephews, nieces and Godchildren. Oblester was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Camila Romero; two sisters, Marcella and Grace Baca and one brother, Bennie Romero. Oblester was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force and worked as an RN and retired from the VA Hospital. He graduated from the University of Albuquerque with a nursing degree. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Burial to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be his sons, Matthew, Andrew, Ross, Ezequiel, David and Jeff Romero. French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW.
