Perkins -- Dilema (Dee) Mae Perkins passed away on January 19, 2002 at the age of 74 at her home from a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1927 in Willisville, IL to the late Vallee and Amy Vancil. Dee was preceded in death by her first husband, George Milligan of 27 years in 1972; and her second husband, Leroy E. Perkins of 18 years in 1992. Dee is survived by two sons, Dennis Milligan and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque and Dean Milligan and wife Cheryl of Santa Fe; a stepson, Leroy (Perky) Perkins, Jr. and wife Gail of Shasta Lake, CA; three grandchildren, Gary, Patrick and Jennifer; two sisters, Virginia Mesek and husband Fred of Escondido, CA and Dixie Lively and husband, Terry of Granite City, IL; a brother, Max Vancil and wife Helen of Ripon, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perkins worked in Labor and Delivery at Presbyterian Hospital for several years. She was in the first graduating class of Presbyterian Hospitals LPN School of Nursing in August 1961. Known as ťMillieť to her patients, she worked for Dr. Jack Dettweiler as his office nurse until her retirement in 1975. She was an avid golfer at the Albuquerque Country Club and a member of the Sun County Amateur Golf Association. Dee was a member of the Ladies Elks Lodge #461. Dee was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Dee was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest and she had many friends who will surely miss her jovial spirit. Services will be held, Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Gary Milligan and Patrick Milligan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jennifer Milligan. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 8100 Mountain Road NE, Suite 102, 87110, the First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, 87102 or to Delta Hospice, 3600 Menaul NE, 87110. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
