Garcia -- Carlota Romero Garcia, 83, a former resident of Las Vegas, NM for many years, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Ofene A. Garcia; daughters, Juanita Lucero and husband, Dan of Albuquerque and Gloria Solis and husband, Gilbert of Hollister, CA; grandsons, Gary and Joanne Lucero of Albuquerque and Dennis Solis of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Gary Lucero, Jr., Elizabeth Lujan and Phillip Lujan; and great-great-grandchildren, Genevieve Lujan and Sandra Lujan. Carlota was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Juanita Romero; brother, Elias Romero; sister, Marcia Romero Casias; and granddaughter, Brenda Lujan. She married her husband Ofene on October 10, 1942 in Las Vegas, NM. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith NE, with Rev. Jaime Quinonez officiating. Ennichement will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
