Schmelzer -- Patsy Louise Schmelzer, 58, a resident of Corrales, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2002. Patsy was born March 19, 1943 the daughter of William Henry and Marie Elizabeth Svendsen Postier in Rochester, Minnesota. She had been a Department Manager for United Defense, formerly Northern Ordinance, before her death. Patsy received her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, and a Masters in Business Administration from the College of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While still in Minnesota, Patsy served for nine years on the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota. Most recently she was employed with Tech-Reps Inc. of Albuquerque as a technical writer. She was also the editor of the newsletter for the New Mexico Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America. Patsy is survived by her husband, Robert of Corrales, NM; mother, Marie Postier of Corrales, NM; and sister, Virginia Cotton of Rochester, MN. It has been suggested that memorials be made in Patsy's name to the American Cancer Society, Southwest Division, Inc., 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
