Weaver -- Kenneth P. Weaver, MSW, passed away Monday, June 10, 2002, in Albuquerque, of complications of polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Mr. Weaver loved his family deeply and fiercely. He believed in the essential worth of all human beings and spent nearly 50 years as a social worker and clinical therapist. He was instrumental in developing innovative human services programs in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area in the 60's and 70's. In the 80's, he opened a clinical therapy practice in Wheaton, IL, and continued practicing after moving to Albuquerque in 1994. Last year, he helped his wife and daughters launch a joint business venture, Dynamic Growth Strategies, Inc., and was their biggest supporter. Born in Liberty, OH, Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, JoAnne (Gowdy) Weaver; daughters, Deborah Weaver Parker and Denise Weaver Ross; grandchildren, Claire M. Parker Harston, Sarah N.K. Parker, C. Alexander Ross II, and Nicholas K. Ross; son-in-law, Thomas M. Parker; and siblings, Paul Weaver, Esther Rose, Bert and Dot Weaver, Bernice Neuman, Betty Jane Zechar, Harrison and Tomme Ann Weaver, Florence Lowrey, Ralph and Hannah Weaver, and Sue (Goldie) and Bob Hallencamp. He is mourned as well by Mrs. Weaver's siblings, Kenneth and Shirley Gowdy, Judy and Orland Abel, John and Shirley Gowdy and Kathe and Donovan Kramer; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his parents, Bertie and Elsa (Paul) Weaver; and son-in-law, Colin Alexander Ross I. Cremation has taken place and a committal service will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at the Rose Garden, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the PKD Foundation, 4901 Main Street, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO, 64112. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
