Lansdowne -- Mabel R. Lansdowne, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 21, 2002. She is survived by her son, John Lansdowne and his wife, Betty of Albuquerque; her grandson, DeAndre Lansdowne; her brother, Howard Hess of Denver, CO; her sister-in-law, Ethel Lansdowne of Tamarac, FL; her brother-in-law, Frank Lansdowne of Grand Prairie, TX; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald S. Lansdowne, in December 2000. Mabel was born in Union City, NJ on June 16, 1913 to Ruth and William Hess. For many years she worked in New York City and in New Jersey as a bookkeeper. While working for Sun Insurance Company in New York City, she met her husband, Reginald, and they married in 1939. While their early years together were interrupted by the war, they enjoyed sixty years of marriage. They moved to Albuquerque in 1993. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 noon, Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
