Owen -- Jack Bryan Owen, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2002. Jack moved to Albuquerque from El Paso, TX in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen; his son, Bill and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Clarissa and Sam, all of Albuquerque; brother, Dan and his wife, Iris of Tucson, AZ; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Jack was born in Dallas, TX and grew up in Hayden, AZ. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a machinist for the El Paso Natural Gas Company from 1947-1981. Before retiring, he spent several years working on a liquefied natural gas project in Algeria and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Jack was devoted to his family and friends. He served his community as an active member of Manhattan Presbyterian Church, a coach of El Paso youth league sports, and over 50 years of membership in Masonic and Shrine organizations. He loved music, the outdoors and sports. He played trumpet in the Shrine Band and sang in the church and senior center chorus groups. An avid golfer, he played several times a week after retirement. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 12, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 8700 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas.
