Arguello -- Andres Antonio Arguello, 20, went home to his Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Andres was born on June 29, 1982 in Portales, NM He graduated from St. Pius X High School and was very active in baseball his entire life. His baseball interests expanded to include Little League, American Legion Summer Baseball Post 13, and he was very proud to have played for his high school team at St. Pius X. Andres was attending the University of New Mexico and was preparing to start his Junior year of college. He had a passion for life and his world revolved around his wonderful friends. Andres had a contagious smile and was always making people laugh. He was very fond of music and was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Andres was preceded in death by his uncle, Ronnie Roybal. He is survived by his beloved parents, Jose and Josephine Arguello of Albuquerque; cherished brother, Carlos Arguello; maternal grandparents, Reynaldo and Caroline Roybal of Santa Rosa, NM; paternal grandparents, Marcos and Luz Arguello of Vaughn, NM; uncles, Pat Arguello, Marcos and wife, Maryann Arguello, Jesus and wife, Yolanda Roybal, Rudy and wife, Janice Roybal, and David Roybal; his aunts, Dorothy and husband, John Sanchez, Romalia Roybal, Rose Ann and husband, Pat Maes; many, many, cousins; precious friend, Jasmine Storey; a host of many very special friends, and his beloved dog, Smokie. A visitation for Andres will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church (5901 St. Joseph's Drive NW directly across from St. Pius High School). A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church with Father Frank Prieto as Celebrant. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sam Baca, Cody Britton, Joe Gallegos, Stanley Grey, Marcus Antonini, and Johnny Atencio. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his beloved cousins and endless friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Andres Arguello Fund at Wells Fargo Bank. This fund will be used to benefit youth baseball. The following is a special prayer that Andres kept written inside the brim of his baseball cap:"Protect me Lord and keep me safe. In the energy you provide, let me conquer. Unto you I give my thanks. Stay with me in my heart with strength. Amen." Services under the care of Sunrise Funeral Options (891-9192).
