Smythe -- Samuel S. Smythe, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died on Saturday, August 24, 2002. He is survived by; his sister-in-law, Ruby Wochner of Canyon, TX; brother-in-law, Raymond Bradshaw of Waterflow, NM; two nieces; five nephews; several other grand-nieces and nephews; and special friend, Roger Rasley of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Smythe, in 1994, and niece, Barbara Hobbs in 1979. Mr. Smythe was a WWII veteran and retired from the U.S. Army and civil service. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Reverend Clyde Stanfield officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may visit from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
