Mccorkle -- Clausell McCorkle, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clara McCorkle; and four children, son, Timothy McCorkle and wife, Anndra McCorkle, daughter, Elizabeth McCorkle, son, Michael McCorkle and wife, Madelyn McCorkle, daughter, Deborah Crespo and husband, Albert Crespo; four grandchildren, Stephen McCorkle, David McCorkle, Stephanie McCorkle, Shawn Acosta and wife, Rhea Acosta; two sisters, Mrs. Noi Dell Parker and husband, Lambert Parker of Chicago, IL and Mrs. Julie M. Hallburton of Dowagiac, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Clausell retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service and worked at Presbyterian Hospital. Clausell worshipped in Air Force Base Chapels throughout his military career. His home church was Matthew Zion Baptist Church in Halls, TN. Clausell served his community in many capacities. He was a Sunday School teacher, lay reader and usher at Kirtland Base Chapel, a substitute teacher in the Albuquerque Public Schools, an officer in the Charlie Morrisey Scholarship Committee, and a member of the NAACP. Clausell was a member of Mt. Everest Masonic Lodge #1, San Hedrin Consistory #69, and Luxor Temple #202. He was well known and loved by many. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday, September 16, 2002, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2002, 9:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Mark Hobbs and Chaplain Lemuel Boyles officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charlie Morrisey Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 80163, 87198.
