Lindell -- Major Kermit Fennel Lindell, US Army (Ret.), 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002. He was born May 23, 1915 in Huron, SD and moved with his family to Minnesota in 1920, growing up on a farm near Welch and Redwing. Maj. Lindell entered the US Army in 1936 at Ft. Snelling and served during WWII and Korea, retiring in 1956 with over 20 years of service to his country. He was employed with Sandia National Laboratories for over 18 years, retiring in 1974. Maj. Lindell was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had life memberships in both the Retired Officers Association and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Lindell had been a resident of La Vida Llena Retirement Community since 1990. He is survived by his sister, Frances Viola Foster; three nieces; and two nephews. After 55 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel in December 1995. Services will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at La Vida Llena Retirement Community, 10501 Lagrima De Oro NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School NE, 87102. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
